Amanda Rheaume’s rootsy, guitar-driven ballads introduce crucial dimensions to the world of Heartland Rock. In a genre characterized by anthems of underdogs, assumptions and unfair advantages, Rheaume’s sound and story crucially and radically expand the boundaries, geographic and cultural, to make space for new perspectives on resistance and resilience.

Born Wesley Louissaint in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, he has grown into his role as a prolific songwriter, guitarist and producer. Uniting a large cross section of Montreal talent, his music links Haitian voudou and rara with roots, Afrobeat, and hip-hop. Guest spots on his albums include the likes of Tiken Jah Fakoly, Paul Cargnello, and Malika Tirolien. He has toured under the GlobalFest banner with the Caribbean All Stars.

Ruby Singh is a descendant of the land of five rivers and the Moon itself, with Rajput lineage from the edge of the Thar desert. The Future Ancestors come together to conjure sonic remedies to heal, guide and inspire the spirits of our kin, both known and unknown, seen and unseen. From celestial to terrestrial, spanning ancient realms into what’s to come, the Future Ancestors kick up stardust from the shelves of our spirits to bring joy into these trying times.
