Our commitment to safety and security always will be our number one priority. After successfully producing shows on Holberg Farm in 2020, with similar health regulations in place, we are confident that we can produce several more with very little risk of transmission of Covid-19.
Some of the measures that we will be undertaking are:
- Multiple sanitizing stations
- Well ventilated bathrooms
- No contact admission (no physical tickets)
Seating according to households- Properly distanced seating bubbles
- No food or drink service (but BYOB)
- Daily staff/volunteer health checks
- All staff/volunteers wearing PPE at all times
- No touch merch sales
- An on-site Covid Safety Officer
- Full refunds for those feeling under the weather
- Collection of contact information for contract tracing.
- Patrons will provide their own seating.
As one of the only groups who will be presenting live entertainment in BC this summer, despite the high uptake of inoculation and lowering COVID-19 numbers, a lot of people will be watching everything we do. The microscope will be zoomed in on the Harrison Festival and we intend to stick with our rigid safety plan no matter what. It doesn’t take much to ruin our reputation as a safe event, so we will not welcome back anybody who disrespects our rules or disobeys our protocols. The health and safety of our community as a whole is our priority above all else. Each patron who attends at least one of the events will be sent this information package which outlines all of our protocols and is asked to follow them.
We are planning under the assumption that gatherings of 100 people will be allowed on-site at any given time. Gathering limits have increased significantly as of July 1st, however, we will still be limiting admission due to many logistical challenges and out of respect for the farm and animals. If for whatever reason the festival is not permitted the Festival will offer all tickets sold and switch to a 100% digital event. We hope this will not be the case, but if it is, we are prepared to move onward and upward and do the best we can to present quality entertainment to Harrison, the Fraser Valley, and beyond.
When patrons arrive at the farm, they will follow the signs to our check-in table where they will confirm their seating arrangement. For seating, we are following the guidelines of the Event Safety Alliance and NIVA (National Independent Venues Association) where only household bubbles can sit together (which means a shared address). Seating with friends will be permitted, but groups must remain two metres from other groups at all times. Placements will be arranged according to seating type. For Example, people with blankets will be put towards the front and those with high back chairs will be put towards the back or side. Some requests can be accommodated but no guarantees can be made and as you can see to the picture to the right, there is no bad seat in the house!
We ask that all patrons respect the rules and not attend a Festival event if they feel any symptoms of COVID-19 such as:
Most common symptoms:
- fever
- dry cough
- tiredness
- difficulty breathing
- chest pain
- aches and pains
- sore throat
- diarrhea
- conjunctivitis
- headache
- loss of taste or smell
- a rash on the skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes
If you have any of the above symptoms, please stay home, self-isolate and book a testing appointment.
Any patrons who have symptoms and cannot attend an event, please contact us at info@harrisonfestival.com for a full refund of your pass.
We ask that once people have put their blankets or chairs down, they do not mingle closely with other people at the event. A minimum of 2 metres is required and our on-site COVID Safety Officer will be on hand to enforce this rule.
Masks will be required on all patrons (10 years and older) until they are seated in their spots and will be required for all staff/volunteers at all times. The distance between performers and audience will also be greater than 3 metres.
We will be selling festival and artist merch as per usual at our event, however, we will be taking steps to reduce the number of touchpoints. We strongly encourage debit/credit transactions and not cash.
Meeting the artist(s) after the show will be possible but will happen in a designated spot where distance can be controlled and masks will be mandatory. Pictures with artists will not be allowed.
