Performances
Hall Stage:
Bob’s and Lolo | 11:45am & 1:45pm
Bobs & LoLo are five-time JUNO nominated singer-songwriters as well as the creators and stars of the upbeat, musical preschool series Sing, Dance and Play with Bobs & LoLo. This dynamic duo is dedicated to connecting children to nature with music, movement and make-believe. Robyn Hardy (Bobs) and Lorraine Pond (LoLo) first met at a summer camp on the west coast of Canada. Growing up together, Robyn and Lorraine have always shared a love of the natural world and a passion for working with children. Creating Bobs & LoLo has allowed them to combine their diverse academic backgrounds with a mutual love of teaching and the creative arts. This is Bobs and Lolo’s second time here at the Harrison Festival and we are delighted to have them back!
Outdoor Stage:
Twin Embers |12:30pm- 1:00pm & 2:30pm -3:00pm
Twin embers are the fiddle duo of Danielle Leonard and Annika Wilson. Having lived coast-to-coast, and little bit everywhere in between, Danielle is an experienced performer and instructor in various Celtic and Canadian styles, and has toured across Canada and the United States, both as a solo and group performer. Danie loves to try new takes on old tunes, and incorporate her own tunes into the mix. Hailing from the West Coast of Canada, Annika Wilson has made quite the name for herself as one of Vancouver’s finest fiddlers. Inventive and lively, Annika’s fiddle style is heavily influenced by Cape-Breton and Scottish music, but is in no way bound by it. Her music has led her to perform on both coasts of Canada, the US, & Ireland. She has also received instruction from some of North America’s top fiddlers including Mairi Rankin, Natalie MacMaster, & Liz Carroll.
Cosmo Circus |11:00am-11:30am & 1:15pm-1:45pm
Cosmo Circus features the clowning of Melissa Aston. Melissa brings 20 years of experience to U.S. and Canadian stages, circus rings, and hospitals. As the sole female clown in the historic Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus, she toured the U.S. on a circus train; she has wrestled sharks in a duck pond; and she has set funny bones at BC Children’s Hospital. In 2012 Melissa was asked to work in the long-running Therapeutic Clown Program at BC Children’s Hospital. She trained for a year then stepped in as a fully fledged DisOrderly Clown practitioner. Melissa has been working alongside current Director Sand Northrup, in the wards, clinics, and intensive care units of the BC Children’s Hospital. Melissa is also a proud member of The Assembly, Vancouver’s only all – women clown collective
