Benin International Musical

Benin International Musical (BIM) is a collective of Beninese artists coming together to celebrate, and demonstrate to the world, the vital and enduring legacy of Beninese Vodou worship dances. It can be said that Vodou is present in the DNA of all major musical currents of the 20th century: jazz, rock, blues, gospel, Afrobeat and rap, and all these elements are part of the universal Vodou channelled through a BIM performance. In this music you will hear Vodou rhythms and traditional songs, steamroller grooves, punk-hop riffs, and ceremonial singing. Through its performances, BIM bridges past and present, drawing on deeply rooted traditions while embracing the sounds of today’s global music landscape.

BIM Tickets

You got questions, we got answers! Have a read of the following to gain an idea of what the night will look like.

Where will the show be?

In Harrison at 290 Esplanade Ave. The Harrison Memorial Hall

How long will the concert be?

Our Hall Performances are typically two 45 min sets with an intermission in the middle

Will I be able to grab a drink and a snack at the show?

Yes, we will have a licenced bar and concession open at the show.

Will I be able to buy a CD or talk to the artist after the show?

It depends on the artist. We will have an area set up just for this, but it depends on how comfortable each artist feels about it and if they bring merch to sell. We usually find out about merch the day of, but we will update this when we know more. If merch is available, We are able to accept cash, debit or credit. We prefer card over cash.

Will I be able to sit beside my friends?

Yes, Festival seating is first come first serve though.

Will there be bathrooms available?

Yes, bathrooms with either hand sanitizer or soap and water will be available.

Where do I park?

There is lots of parking just outside the venue. We recommend coming early though to get spots closer to the venue. Pay parking will be in effect.

Will seating be provided?

Yes! For indoor shows, we ask that patrons that would prefer to sit and enjoy sit near the back, and those that like to get up and dance, sit near the front.

Will I be able to buy my ticket at the door?

Yes, we will be able to process last-minute sales at the door if tickets are still available. We accept Debit, Credit and cash!
There are no tickets required if the show is on the beach.

Do I need to have a printed ticket?

Yes, in order to walk through the doors, you will have to hand our ticket takers a ticket. However, you don’t need to worry about grabbing them before you arrive. If you have a confirmation from us, then your tickets will be held at the Will Call and you can pick them up just before you go in.

What do I need to bring?

A part from good vibes, nothing. We recommend bringing proof of purchase of the tickets, but we will have your name on a list and be able to check on your order. We also recommend bringing a credit or debit card for concession items and merch if you so choose. Cash is fine too, but we prefer to be cash-light these days. Also, some shows can get loud, so ear plugs are a good idea too.
