Stories and Legends of the Harrison Sts’ailes Traditional Land

In view of the beautiful Harrison Lake, Darren will share stories and legends of the Harrison from the Sts’ailes oral tradition. He will discuss the pictographs from the area, and the history and meaning that they convey through the generations, including moral teachings and stories of important cosmological beings such as that of Xhalls the transformer.
(Qwetoselten) Darren Charlie from Sts’ailes First Nation is the owner and operator of Sasquatch Tours and Cultural Presentations as well as Sasquatch Drums. Born in 1960, Darren learned a part of the oral tradition about the stories and legends of the Harrison, pictographs of the moral teachings and stories of the people. Darren works for Corrections Services Canada as an Elder Spiritual Advisor, does cultural awareness for corrections staff, and works with incarcerated Indigenous people.
