Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble
Location: Harrison Memorial Hall (290 Esplanade Ave.)
Time: Saturday, July 13th, 8:00pm
Curley Taylor and his band, Zydeco Trouble, hail from the heart of Creole country in Louisiana. Curley’s soulful, bluesy vocals and the band’s hard driving zydeco beat blend to create their unique groove that keeps audiences dancing. Born into a musical family, drums were Curley’s first instrument. He began his professional career at age 16 by playing drums with his father’s band, Jude Taylor and the Burning Flames, a band steeped in Louisiana blues, soul, and zydeco. A career playing for luminaries such as Steve Riley and CJ Chenier followed, however a deep passion to learn the accordion led him to becoming a leader in his own right, resulting in his style of music that is true to its roots in zydeco and blues, yet contemporary enough to appeal to a broad range of music lovers.
